This 1970 Porsche 911T coupe was sold new from Bob Hagestad Porsche of Lakewood, Colorado, and the current owner acquired the car in March 2021, reportedly from a person who bought it used in June 1971. Finished in orange over black, the car is powered by a numbers-matching 2.2L flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes chrome 15″ steel wheels with hubcaps, four-wheel disc brakes, Carello driving lights, a rear nudge bar, and a AM/FM radio. Work in preparation for the sale is said to have included tuning the carburetors and replacing the shift-rod bushings.
The Karmann-built body was originally ordered in Tangerine (2323), and the seller believes the car has been refinished under previous ownership. Features include Carello driving lights and a rear nudge bar as well as bright-finished trim, bumper overriders, and a driver-side mirror. Wear is noted throughout and includes cracking in rubber seals and weatherstripping, paint chipping, and indentations. Rust is present on the rocker panels, passenger-side fender, and bumper corners.
Chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels wear Porsche-branded hubcaps and are mounted with 165R15 Dunlop tires. Each corner is equipped with disc brakes.
Black seating upholstery is accompanied by a matching dashboard and door panels. Equipment includes three-point front seatbelts, a locking glove compartment, and a AM/FM radio. Cracking is noted on the dashboard, as is wear on the driver-seat bolster, stains on the headliner, and discolored carpeting.
A four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation composed of a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer indicates 89k miles.
The carbureted 2.2L flat-six was factory rated to make 140 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through an optional five-speed manual transaxle. Work carried out in preparation for the sale is said to have included tuning the carburetors and replacing the shift-rod bushings.
Documentation accompanying the car includes a Porsche Maintenance Record booklet that notes the car was delivered new to Bob Hagestad Porsche in April 1970. Purchase and sales agreements from Crest Motors of Denver, Colorado show a June 1971 purchase with a $6,281 sale price.
