Description
This 1975 Porsche 914 was refurbished and modified during prior ownership in Florida, and it later relocated to Kansas city and was acquired by the seller in 2020. This 1975 Porsche 914 was refurbished and modified during prior ownership in Florida, and it later relocated to Kansas city and was acquired by the seller in 2020. Work during the refurbishment is said to include refinishing the exterior in light blue, fitting an oil cooler, exhaust headers, ATS alloy wheels, and lowered suspension with Koni shocks, as well as a rebuild of its 2.0-liter flat-four with a Type 4-sourced case, replacement cylinders and pistons, and installation of dual Weber carburetors. Work performed during current ownership included installation of a replacement transmission cover for the five-speed manual transaxle, along with LED headlights, plaid seat upholstery, a Bluetooth-capable stereo, and a Viilante steering wheel, along with a valve adjustment, retuning the carburetors, and replacement of the throttle cable, door cam actuator, and tires.
The seller states that the fender lips were rolled and the body was repainted blue in 2008, and a Richard Johnson chassis stiffening kit was installed in 2009 along with a stainless-steel front bumper guard. Additional equipment includes a removable black roof panel, body-color sail panels, and black bumpers, and during current ownership black rocker panel covers were installed along with Grote LED headlights and a replacement right door handle actuator. The seller states the fog lights are inoperative and that engine cover rain tray was removed to accommodate the oil cooler.
ATS 15″ alloy wheels are finished in black and fitted with carbon-fiber center caps, and the seller states that the 195/60 Goodyear Eagle Sport A/S tires were mounted in July 2020. The seller states that the suspension was lowered during prior ownership and fitted with a rear sway bar, replacement links, and Koni adjustable shocks, the wheel bearings and brake components were replaced in 2017, and the brake master cylinder was replaced and stainless-steel brake lines were fitted in July 2018. The seller notes bends in two wheels, and uninstalled wheel spacers and three ATS center caps are included in the sale.
The interior features seats that were reupholstered in January 2021 with blue tartan cloth inserts sourced from 914 Rubber, and a Dual Electronics stereo with Bluetooth connectivity was also fitted during current ownership. A button to operate the starter is mounted on the dashboard, and the seller states that the rear-trunk roof storage clips were replaced in July 2021. The seat adjustment handles are broken, the interior light between the seats is inoperative, and there is a hole near the heater control panel on the dashboard faceplate following the relocation of the cigarette lighter to the center console. A set of unused seat adjustment handles are included in the sale along with an uninstalled short-shift kit.
A Viilante steering wheel with a perforated leather wrap, blue stitching, and a blue taped centering stripe was installed during current ownership and utilizes a MOMO hub adapter. Instrumentation consists of a 7k-rpm tachometer, a replacement 150-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. Additional gauges are mounted in the center console, and the seller states the oil pressure and oil-temperature gauges are inoperative. The replacement five-digit odometer shows under 7k miles, approximately 1k of which were added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.0-liter flat-four was reportedly rebuilt in 2008 utilizing a Volkswagen Type 4-sourced engine case, rebuilt cylinder heads, and replacement cylinders and pistons. Modifications installed at that time included dual Weber carburetors, an aftermarket camshaft, an oil cooler, and exhaust headers. The seller states that a PerTronix electronic ignition system was installed in 2016, and 2017 service included overhauling the distributor and replacement of the clutch cable, distributor cap, fuel pump, ignition coils, and shift linkage and bushings. 2018 maintenance consisted of rebuilding the carburetors, and the following services were reportedly completed in July 2021:

Oil and filter change
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. No heat exchangers are installed, and the muffler and exhaust system were replaced and overhauled in August 2011.
The car won its class at the 2020 Kansas City Region Porsche Club of America Zone 10 All-German Car Show. Service records said to date back to 2008 and the following spare parts and accessories are included in the sale:
